Cook Out Takeover

COOK OUT RESIDENTS:

Big Daddy Can

Spanning a myriad of genres and blurring lines on dance floors Big Daddy Can presents a weekly radio show on UCC98.3 “The Birds & The Beats is an encompassing selection of all elements of electronic & underground music.

Holding down residencies in some of Cork’s most prolific venus such as the Vicarstown Bar & Crane Lane Theatre. Big Daddy Can also runs the Cook Out parties alongside local stalworths JusMe & Bilbo Bongo, and has played alongside the likes of Digital Mystikz, Quantic, Goldfish, Dreadzone, to name but a few

JusMe

A regular of the Cork music scene for a good 15 years, Jus’Me comes from the dying school of DJs that collect rare records just so they can wreck them by cutting them up. His sets tend to be forward thinking and eclectic while managing to stay crowd pleasing and fun.

These days he stays busy as a promoter with the Cuttin’ Heads Collective as well as being a turntablist with Ophelia MC’s live band. He’s a regular at festivals all over Ireland and last year played in Berlin and Poland. He’s also warmed up for big names like The Pharcyde, Peanut Butter Wolf, Grandmaster Flash, Invisible Skratch Piklz, Jehst, and DJ Woody.

Bilbo Bongo

Bilbo has been collecting records since he could just see over the record shop counter. Starting out with Jungle and Drum’Bass, his collection moved through Dubstep, Reggae and Hip-Hop.

He has popped in and out of the Cork music scene with different genres and residencies. Playing support gigs for MungoHifi, Rafikal Guru & Solo Banton, across many of corks club nights and raves. His passion is reading the vibe of the occasion and taking a journey through the record boxes, always with a focus on a bass heavy Jamaican sound.
